Another sign of creeping autocracy is growing failure (or reluctance) to hit back hard via the courts. There appears to be a growing disregard of due process by ICE - to the point where more and more people are being arrested with total disregard for due process. We should see the court system flooded with suits for financial damages for wrongful arrest. We should see local police jurisdictions acting against ICE violations of citizen rights. The court decision in California yesterday should be repeated in many if not all Federal judicial districts. 65 percent of people being "arrested" by ICE have no convictions, 28 percent have no violent convictions, and 7 percent have violent convictions. Gahh! It's been taken to a level beyond absurdity! Even North Koreans would blanch and vomit if they witnessed these "cabinet meetings"!
