Some of the worst, most corrupt, or incompetent sheriffs in movie history include Gene Hackman’s brutal Little Bill Daggett in Unforgiven, the bumbling Buford T. Justice in Smokey and the Bandit, and the corrupt, harassing Sheriff Hoyt from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. These characters are defined by their abuse of power, incompetence, or cruelty (AI).

THE REAL LIFE VERSIONS MAKE THESE GUYS LOOK LIKE DISNEY CHARACTERS. This might be the worst real one (who, of course, was pardoned by Trump). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Arpaio

Ty debra for the history. We have to add the tragic racial injustice of the Groveland Boys 1949. Four young blacks that were falsely accused, Convicted, and sentenced when a 17-year-old white girl cried rape. The local Sheriff headed the hunt. The judge and prosecutor were also responsible in such a horrific miscarriage of justice. RE: Devil In The Grove by Gilbert King. Excellent example of your comment debra. Thank you. 👍
